Winpot Playa del Carmen: the biggest room on the Riviera

Where it is, and how to reach it

The address is Av. Paseo Central, SM 52, Mz 1, Lote A1, Nuevo Centro Urbano, 77723 — several directories repeat 77710, which is the old downtown. This is the newer commercial district, inland and away from the sea, and Winpot occupies a unit inside the mall.

That matters if you arrive by boat: from the Cozumel ferry pier it is 2.24 km (1.4 miles) in a straight line — a taxi, not a walk, and the town publishes no taxi tariff, so ask the price first. On a cruise day, the room you can walk to is Riviera Grand, not this one.

• From Cancun by shared van: 68 km, leaving opposite the downtown ADO terminal every ten minutes from 4:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., 45 to 55 pesos. They drop you far from the mall.
• By ADO coach: 1 h 20 to 1 h 30, every 30 to 60 minutes, fares quoted between 110 and 210 pesos.
• By Tren Maya: the route resumed on 15 August 2026, Cancun departures 6:45 and 10:30, 49 minutes. Published fares disagree, 74 to 148 pesos.
• Watch the shuttle: the Tren Maya Conecta service here runs to Playacar, not to Plaza Las Américas. The shuttle that does serve one is the Cancun shuttle, and that mall has a different casino.

Hours: what the listing says and what the local press reported

The listing publishes 10 a.m. to 3 a.m., seven days — one of the latest closes in the state; only Casino Macao in Cancun runs to 4 a.m.

What is inside

Machines, called bingo, sports betting, tables and live shows: the widest spread of games in town. All of it comes from reviews, because no game catalogue and no machine count is published. The floor takes credit, debit and contactless.

• Bingo, daily. Reviews describe several games through the evening; one from June 2026 says "daily bingo". No timetable is published.
• Poker, roulette, blackjack. The English reviews mention poker 14 mentions, roulette 10, blackjack 6, plus a poker room. A local guide calls the blackjack "video blackjack", so a live dealer table is not confirmed.
• A sportsbook lounge with armchairs rather than a counter, plus live tribute acts.
• A smoking area — the single most repeated topic in the English reviews, 19 mentions, more than bingo and more than poker.
• A restaurant and bar, name not published, cash only, while the machines take cards.

A strict process to get in… it took me more than an hour to register.

Five-star Google review, 24 March 2026

That review is positive about everything else and still describes an hour of paperwork. Winpot publishes no entry requirements: no age, no documents, no dress code. What is certain is that the federal regulation bars minors from betting areas and the age of majority here is 18. Bring photo ID, a passport if you are foreign: see ID and age.

The tax the reviews complain about

Ten reviews mention tax, and one sums up what the rest say: "10 per cent when you load and 11 per cent when you cash out, they take 21 per cent in the end" (one star, 22 December 2025). That is a visitor's opinion, not a published rate.

The statutes give two rates, not one. Quintana Roo charges 10 per cent on gaming outlays — the money you put into play, not the prize — and the federal tax on a prize from a betting game is 1 per cent, withheld by the house. So the 10 per cent "when you load" is real; the 11 per cent "when you cash out" matches no verifiable rate, and the 21 per cent is two taxes with different bases added together. Ask for your receipt at the cage: taxes on winnings.

The room and winpot.mx: what is the same and what is not

The same brand runs an online casino and, unlike the room, publishes its legal backing in full: the domain is operated by Winpot Online América under permit DGJS/DGAFJ/DCRCA/P-08/2014. That footer matches the government register line for line — two independent sources for one claim, which is rare here.

What does not carry over is free play. The machines in the room are physical and have no trial version — and most guides get the other half wrong, because no demo mode is confirmed on winpot.mx either: its "Juega Gratis" menu leads to the sports lobby and is a free bet.

Two things to know before signing up. The welcome offer — 300 pesos with no deposit plus a match on the first deposit up to 10 000 pesos, 20× wagering within seven days, checked 10 September 2026 — is limited by its own terms to people over 18 resident in Mexico. And payouts run through a Mexican bank account: before a first withdrawal the operator asks for ID, a recent utility bill and an RFC, the tax number a tourist does not have. Winpot is still not the most searched name in town: that belongs to the Riviera Grand, which has no website at all. Winpot is the machines-and-bingo room with a mall around it; the Riviera Grand is the table room near the beach.
