Codere Paseo Cancun: the casino inside Plaza Paseo

Paseo Cancun or the Outlet? Both, sort of

The name says Paseo Cancún; reviewers and the venue's own Facebook posts have placed it in «Plaza Outlet» next door. Both malls stand on Avenida Andrés Quintana Roo in SM 39, about 400 metres apart, and the confusion is genuine rather than sloppy.

What settles it: Google's coordinates point at Paseo Cancún, while the coordinates for Casino Broadway and for the Caliente betting point fall on Las Plazas Outlet — and the Outlet's own tenant directory lists exactly one casino, Broadway. So this room is in Paseo Cancún, and the other one, 220 yards away, is not. If a taxi driver takes you to the Outlet, you are one short walk from the wrong casino.

What is inside

Slot machines are the core of the room, with video bingo alongside them and a sports betting area with a lot of screens. No live table games are confirmed here — not one review mentions a croupier, and the description on the Google listing is generic chain copy that applies to every Codere venue in Mexico, so it cannot be used to claim roulette or poker in this particular room.

The review themes are almost identical in Spanish and English, which is rare: machines, fun, drinks, promotions, money, courtesy, smoking, and — in both languages — «outlet», because customers file the place under the mall next door. There is a smoking area, with complaints about the ventilation. Two honest negatives: drinks are not free («they used to give courtesy drinks, now they will not even give you water»), and the kitchen has been reported shut at night. The restaurant is unnamed.

The loyalty scheme is the chain-wide Codere Club de Lealtad, which you join at any of its venues with a valid ID and a form. It has four tiers, and points convert at 10 points to one peso of play, or one peso of food and drink, or half a peso in cash — plus 200 points on your birthday and one free card replacement a year. It is the only mechanism here that produces anything free.

The neighbourhood, and why it feels different

This is the local half of Cancun, and the hotel map says it plainly: one small hotel at 174 m (570 ft), a second at 798 m (half a mile), then nothing for two kilometres. Compare Palace Bingo downtown, with a hotel 110 feet from its door.

From a Hotel Zone hotel this is the longest casino trip in the city — about 6 miles, and no bus route along this avenue is confirmed in our sources. Realistically it is a taxi, quoted by zone before you get in, or an app car; Uber and DiDi work normally downtown but often cancel pickups out on the strip.

The door, and the chain behind it

Entry is free and for over-18s — Codere prints «sólo para mayores de 18 años» on its own venue site. Expect a bag check, and expect the registration step: you fill in your details at a terminal and hand the ticket to the cashier, a process one reviewer abandoned as too fiddly before ever playing. No document rule is published for this room specifically; carry your passport anyway, because above roughly 38,126 pesos any venue in Mexico is obliged to identify a customer formally.

Codere publishes permit numbers in two places — the footer of its venue site lists six permits held by six different companies, and its app lists a different set — and it does not say which one covers Cancun. Both sets come from the company itself. What can be verified independently is that its website appears on the federal register of authorised gaming pages with the status «operando», which is more than most brands in this register can show.

That licensed website is also where the practical difference sits. On this floor there is no demo, no free spin and no credit — regulation bans a venue from extending credit to a bettor, and play runs on a card you load with cash.
